"Seize the day" is a popular saying among people who don't want their lives dictated by days. Seizing is one way to take command of the day, but what better way to establish your dominance over it than to cease the day? Cease the day, my friends.

The World Through My Eyes: Sticks
Picking up sticks is far more exciting when there's a fire waiting for them.

Physique of Speech: Something at First Something Else
We've all heard about "love at first sight" and I believe it exists. However, it's merely one of a multitude of emotions we subconsciously experience when we interact with someone for the first time. Here are some others that aren't as well known.
Good
Restraining order at first spy
Interesting
Ovulation at first observation (for the ladies)
Good
Like at first look
Want at first witness
Romance at first regard
Arousal at first perusalSmitten at first survey
Not so good
Disappointment at first discovery
Indifference at first inspection
Confusion at first examination
Annoyance at first notice
Violent at first view
Bad
Split at first spot
Repulsion at first recognitionVomiting at first monitoring
Suicidal at first scrutinyRestraining order at first spy
Interesting
Puerile at first peep
Hunger at first ogle
Erection at first detection (for the men, I hope)
Bedazzled at first behold (two meanings, substantial difference)
Physique of Speech: Gorillas
Can someone decide once and for all the size of the the massive gorilla in the room? While they're at it, they should also keep the off-colored elephant from entering the room. It's getting crowded.

Osama Observations
Seeing American's taking to the streets to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden was like watching Kansas basketball fans storm the court in Allen Fieldhouse after beating Emporia State in an exhibition game.
It's not a matter of patriotism, rather a matter of inflating our enemy's ego. This is America. Systematically eliminating threats to our national security should not be cause for celebration. It should be viewed as business as usual. On to the next terrorist.
Regardless, the important thing is bin Laden is dead and I don't need to see his body to know this to be true. How do I know without a shadow of a doubt that bin Laden is dead? Imagine another terrorist attack were to take place tomorrow morning and, by the afternoon, Al Jazeera was playing video of bin Laden taking credit for the attack. Washington would burn to the ground. That's how I know.
